The Sheddies have been experiencing nature in their Outdoor Classroom.

In our ever-busy world it is important to stop, breathe and take things in. Every fortnight the Sheddies will take their learning outside to encourage the children to take time out of their busy day and connect with nature.

The aim of the Outdoor Classroom is to present the children with different learning environments which are challenging and exciting and allow them to learn different skills, enjoy and appreciate the outdoors, have fun and get messy!

The Sheddies will get to visit the beach, bushland, Perry Lakes and other local ‘nature’ spots, and their outings will include activities like collecting nature treasures and making mandalas, building boats, creating huts, exploring habitats and looking at patterns in the environment.

Connecting with the environment also supports creativity, improves concentration, and helps the children understand the importance of taking care of our world.
